Returns, Exchanges & Refunds Policy

This policy governs all returns, exchanges, refunds, credits, and cancellations for purchases made from BLDMarine.com.


By placing an order, the customer acknowledges and agrees to all terms stated below.

Return & Exchange Eligibility

BLDMarine.com accepts returns and exchanges within thirty (30) days of the original purchase date, subject to approval and the conditions outlined in this policy.

The following items are non-returnable, non-refundable, and not eligible for exchange. All sales are final for these items:

  • Software, mapping, and chart data cards
  • Opened or programmed AIS radios
  • Extended warranties, service plans, and protection plans
  • Liquids, chemicals, sealants, coatings, oils, lubricants, cleaners, adhesives, antifouling products, and all hazardous or consumable chemical products
  • Items with opened factory packaging
  • Installed, mounted, wired, programmed, altered, or used items
  • International orders
  • Freight / truck-only items
  • Special order items
  • Personal Floatation Devices, Float Coats, Life Jackets, PFDs, and Life Rafts

Large equipment, such as trolling motors, refrigerators, and shallow water anchors, etc are subject to additional restrictions and is reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Approval is at the sole discretion of BLDMarine.com.

For any return or exchange involving a serial-numbered product, the serial number must be provided and verified against BLDMarine.com records prior to approval.

Shipping & Handling Charges

All shipping and handling charges are non-refundable, including promotional or "free shipping" orders. If an order qualified for free or promotional shipping, the following shipping and handling charges will be deducted from any approved refund or store credit:

  • Standard Shipping: $10.99
  • Express Shipping: $34.99
  • Truck Freight: Actual shipping and handling cost incurred by BLDMarine.com. Truck freight costs typically range from $250.00 to $600.00 depending on item size and delivery location.

If BLDMarine.com provides a return shipping label, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from the refund or store credit unless otherwise stated in writing.

Refunds, Credits & Exchanges

If a return is approved, the form of resolution is determined solely at the discretion of BLDMarine.com. Depending on the circumstances, one of the following may be issued:

  • Exchange of merchandise
  • Non-transferable store credit
  • Credit to the original payment method
  • Refund by check
  • Any other resolution deemed appropriate

The final resolution for an approved return, including the refund method, is determined at the sole discretion of BLDMarine.com.

Return Authorization (RMA Required)

All returns and exchanges require prior authorization.

Customers must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) by emailing info@bldmarine.com.
RMA requests are typically reviewed within 1–3 business days.
Returns sent without an approved RMA will be refused.

Affirm Orders

Orders paid through Affirm are subject to the following conditions:

  • A 15% restocking fee applies to all returned Affirm purchases
  • Affirm purchases are eligible for store credit only
  • No refunds will be issued back to Affirm

Defective Product Returns & Exchanges

Most manufacturers require customers to contact manufacturer technical support to verify defects prior to return authorization.

To ensure the fastest resolution for a defective product, please follow the manufacturer's required process:

  1. Contact the manufacturer's technical support department
  2. Obtain a manufacturer-issued RMA number (if required)
  3. Provide BLDMarine.com with:
    • Manufacturer technician's name
    • Product serial number
    • Description of the defect
    • Manufacturer-issued RMA number (if applicable)

A prepaid return shipping label may be provided only for verified defective items and only if approved by the manufacturer.
If BLDMarine.com issues a prepaid label, the cost of return shipping may be deducted from the refund or credit unless otherwise specified in writing.

Non-Defective Returns (If Approved)

Unused, unopened, non-defective products in sealed factory packaging may be eligible for return subject to the following:

  • Original shipping and handling charges are non-refundable
  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs
  • If BLDMarine.com provides a return label, the return shipping cost will be deducted from the refund or store credit
  • A restocking fee of up to 15% may be applied
  • Items showing installation, use, opened packaging, missing parts, damaged packaging, or missing UPC/serial verification will be refused
  • Serial numbers must match BLDMarine.com records

BLDMarine.com is not responsible for lost or damaged return shipments.

Order Cancellations

Orders are processed immediately and cannot be canceled once placed.

  • Orders that have shipped must be handled under this return policy
  • Orders that have not shipped may be canceled
  • If payment has been processed, credit card processing fees (3%–9%) will be deducted from any refund

Damaged, Incorrect, or Missing Shipments

  • Damage or missing items must be reported within 48 hours of delivery
  • All other shipping issues must be reported within seven (7) days of delivery

Claims must be submitted to info@bldmarine.com with the order number, photos (if applicable), and a detailed description.

Refused Shipments

Customers are responsible for all costs, including:

  • Original shipping charges
  • Return shipping charges
  • Carrier and refusal fees

Unauthorized Returns

BLDMarine.com reserves the right to refuse or adjust any return that is:

  • Sent without an approved RMA
  • Shipped COD (Cash on Delivery)
  • Used, installed, damaged, missing components, or opened from factory packaging
  • Associated with serial numbers that do not match the records
