Got out on the water first time after getting everything set up. Great motor will take some getting used to being I've never controlled anything bow mount before certainty not a kayak. But had no issues worked great and very happy with it. Spot Lock is a life saver. Was considering buying a cheaper model/brand without Spot Lock. Absolute game changer. Would recommend to anyone!!!

This could be a really great SWA, it holds really well and the main components are built well but the pull strap is complete junk. Mine broke on the second trip out and I had one heck of a time retrieving the anchor without it. The plastic buckle they used is way too thin and can’t handle the pressure it gets put under…especially if you’re in sticky river mud. I was able to create a new strap system for under 30 bucks but you shouldn’t have to do that on a product that sells for 550 bucks! I have shared my solution with the company so hopefully they will fix this issue in the future but just know that this could be an issue for you and I would not recommend this product as it’s currently designed. I added a couple photos to show how I did my strap system in case anyone else experiences the same issue as I did.

Unfortunately I am unable to provide a performance review of the Lowrance NEP3. Nowhere in the documentation did it state that the NEP3 connectors were not backward compatible with the network cables that Lowrance has been using since they started offering the network option. If you have Lowrance equipment like HDS Carbon, HDE Live or the Active Target 2 the network cables with Yellow connectors will not directly connect to the NEP3. If you have any of the afore mentioned units and want to use the NEP3, you ONLY option is to buy the short adaptor cables that have the Yellow Ethernet connector on one end and the NEP3 on the other end. Lowrance is marketing this as an "Navico Ethernet Adapter Yellow 5-Pin Female to Green 8-Pin Male" They are $70.00/each, if you need more than 3 it more cost effective to buy the older Lowrance HUB. My thoughts when I purchased the NEP3 was to get ahead of the curve and be ready for the next generation of higher speed Lowrance Ethernet products. Nowhere in the data provided concerning the NEP3, was it stated that the new Gig unit required either rewiring the boat's Ethernet network, In which case you would still need the adapter cables to connect the earlier Electronics or purchasing the adapters in order to actually be able to connect the earlier Electronics to the network. My guess is this is not an oversight. I have installed a NEP2 and the NEP3 is on the shelf until I update to equipment that will require the new connector.
