Pull the rod handle all the way out and lock it into the retaining slot. Remove the plastic cap from the end of the grease cartridge and insert it open end first into the barrel. Push the grease cartridge into the barrel until the pull-tab rim contacts the barrel rim. Remove the pull-tab seal. Replace the head cap. Release the rod handle from the retaining slot and push it lightly into the barrel to prime the gun.
